The beauty of creating your perfect cheese board is that you get to select all of your favourites cheeses, sweet and savoury snacks, crackers and cured meats all on one beautiful platter.
Select your board, slate or wooden tray. If you don't already own one, try using a plate or cutting board to get you started.
Aim to include a variety of flavours and textures with a range of cheeses, here are a few of our favourites.
Godminster Vintage Cheddar
An award-winning, smooth organic cheddar which deserves a prime place on your cheeseboard. With a rich and full depth flavour with a smooth texture, made to a traditional 90-year-old recipe and matured for up to 12 months.
Made in the heart of the Somerset countryside, there’s been a dairy farm down at Godminster in Somerset for over 100 years, and the herd now consists of Friesian, Norwegian Red and Norwegian Brown cows. They’re watched over by Richard Hollingbery and his family, who, with the expertise of local cheesemakers, turn the cows’ organic milk into gorgeous cheeses.
A traditionally-made cheese handcrafted by artisan cheese makers using the finest Peak District milk. A real traditional Stilton which has a rich, tangy flavour and velvety-soft texture that makes it melt in the mouth. Crafted by hand, Cropwell Bishop Creamery use methods that have not changed since the 17th Century. This allows the Stilton to develop its unique flavour and is then aged over 12 weeks.
A creamy, crumbly handcrafted Wensleydale with deliciously sweet cranberries, perfect for a festive cheese board. This iconic cheese is handmade in the Yorkshire Dales using milk from local farms.
Cobble lane Cured are award-winning charcuterie specialists, supplying Michelin star restaurants with a delicious range of top-quality British cured meats.
People buy Cobble Lane Cured meats because of taste, quality and their commitment to the highest animal welfare. All their meats are sourced from British farmers who share their values, before being cut, cured and smoked in their butchery in Islington, North London.
Their sliced bresaola is cured with herbs, balsamic vinegar and red wine, which give a refreshing tang. It is a great way to experience British beef.
This Sliced Salt & Pepper Salami is a classic, simple salami that allows the pork to shine. A truly sensational addition to your Christmas cheese board.
In their original form Carr's Table Water Biscuits first appeared in the late 19th centuries as a refinement of the ship's biscuit. Now still enjoyed on cheeseboards, they provide the perfect cracker to accompany your cheese and charcuterie.
The perfect addition to any cheese board is a sweet and tangy chutney. We love Tracklements succulent chutney with Kentish Bramley apples and a liberal measure of Somerset cider brandy for a boozy kick.
Finish off your cheese board with a selection of fresh red grapes, celery sticks, dried apricots and nuts. The flavour pairings are endless, so have fun creating your perfect platter.
